JAPANESE rocker DAISUKE (ex-Kagerou) who fronted 'The Studs' has passed away (15th July 2010)
With fans mourning the loss of some of rock music’s greats such as Ronnie James Dio and Slipknot’s Paul Gray, the passing of Daisuke comes as yet another heart-wrenching shock to fans all over the world.
The Studs band management released the following statement via the official website:
“We regret to inform all fans and affiliates that Daisuke was laid to rest on July 15, 2010.
In respect of the wishes of his family the funeral procession will be carried out with his closest relatives only. We thank you deeply for all your support for Daisuke up to now. Our utmost and heartfelt condolences go out to everyone.“

All over the world, thousands of fans expressed their mourning, because An Cafe captured hearts like no other band from Japan! But who could have predicted that Miku would be back so soon…
Lc5 – a band name, reduced to it’s essential elements, expresses the new stylistic Miku strives for. The legendary dragon sinks its sharp fangs into its own tail swallowing it. “UROBOROS” is about the world that took the form of an unending ring, in which the beast was nurtured.
On January 9th and 10th, 2010, the beast took flight into the Nippon Budokan. The world of “UROBOROS” is brought to life and captured from every angle on DVD and CD over those two days. In short, it is a staging of the kaleidoscopic world of DIR EN GREY with highly-charged visuals packed back to back in synch with the continuing cycle of the beast from death to its rebirth.
At the end of 2008, the creative ideal of ”UROBOROS” took off into the world from Osaka-jyo Hall. Continuing their journey, the band took off to the United Kingdom for the “Kerrang! Tour 2009.” Upon their return, they embarked on a nationwide tour, “TOUR09 FEAST OF V SENSES,” hitting numerous local districts all over Japan. This marked the starting point of their worldwide tour, “TOUR09 ALL VISIBLE THINGS.” The pinnacle of this incredible tour came in the form of the Two Days Nippon Budokan shows, the last of which is now available on DVD, which reveals the live experience on a whole new level.
The two nights, dubbed “UROBOROS -with the proof in the name of living…” has become a legendary benchmark in the band’s history as one of their most definitive performances. It received a rare, full star, 5K rating from Kerrang! Magazine, which is renowned for being the world’s highest selling print magazine of this genre. These shows also marked the end of the Uroboros album cycle, which saw DIR EN GREY play 99 shows across the world.

MUCC - JaME interview from the Tuska Festival
JaME had an interview with MUCC at Tuska Open Air Metal Festival in Finland. They asked questions about their festival experiences and new releases.
Hello, nice to meet you. Thank you for giving us an opportunity to interview you.
MUCC: Nice to meet you.
Today you played at Tuska Open Air Metal Festival. What do you think about your own performance?
Tatsuro: We had fun!
Did you have a chance to check out other bands performances?
Miya: I went to see a few of them for a short while, but unfortunately I didn’t have much time for it.
Before Tuska, you performed at Metaltown festival in Sweden. How was it?
Tatsuro: Well, it’s been a while since we visited Europe. Therefore, in Sweden, it took a while to get used to the foreign atmosphere. But today we got to enjoy performing fully.
Two festival performances in a row must be tough. Are you tired?
MUCC: Not really.
Would you like to change something about this weekend?
Miya: In Finland, we had a longer concert and more time for preparing. That would have been nice in Sweden, too.
This is your third time in Finland. What’s it like to be here? Are you going to visit Finland again in the future?
Tatsuro: It feels as if we would have been here more than three times. Miya: We are going to visit Finland again in October!
At least Miya and Tatsuro have known girugamesh for quite a long time. What was it like to perform at the same festival with them in Finland? In general, do you spend lots of time with girugamesh?
Miya: We feel more confident when good friends are here with us. Everything is a lot more fun. In Japan we tend to visit each others homes.
Your career has been long and your music keeps changing and developing. Is there something left of original MUCC? What makes MUCC?
Miya: Today’s MUCC is very different from the original one. We’ve gone far and developed so much that one could say that original MUCC is completely gone, however, the original atmosphere has not vanished. We don’t even think what could be the essence of our band for we do things in such a natural and honest way. Maybe that’s what makes us MUCC.
At the end of the summer, you will release two collection albums, COUPLING BEST and COUPLING WORST. Could you tell us something about them?
Miya: We’ve wanted to release these kind of collection albums for a long time.
COUPLING WORST includes old songs that can be embarrassing in a way. That’s why it is called “worst”.
There are Ave Maria quotes in your song “Sanbika”. Where did this idea come from?
Miya: The idea was mine.
As for the Kyuutai album, did you have some goals? Did you face any obstacles while recording it?
Miya: Songs on this album were created on a tour. So travel is the idea and theme of the album. That’s why it is called Kyuutai (globe). (laugh) Naturally, there were no problems on the recording process but during the tour we had problems with saving new songs.
Let’s get back to today’s performance. How did you wrap up today’s set list?
Miya: There was only a little time so we wanted it to be diverse. Also, we tried to choose songs that Finnish people might like.
You told the audience to sit down at the concert. You do that in Japan too?
Tatsuro: This is something new to us but we do know that it has been done by other bands long before us.
What confuses you the most in Europe?
Tatsuro: Changing currency has been strange. There’s a different currency in England and Sweden, but then again, in some countries it’s the same; Euro. In Finland, long daylight time amazes us.
Tuska is a metal music festival. What are your favorite heavy metal bands?
Miya: Suicidal Tendencies. I would have wanted to see their performance but it wasn’t on the same day as ours. I’ve noticed that some Finnish metal bands use make-up so we blend in very well! Tatsuro: I don’t listen to heavy metal that much. Yukke: If I happen to see a heavy metal band playing, I might listen to their performance and like it but I don’t listen to such music in my free time. SATOchi: We once had a common tour with Avenged Sevenfold. I like them.
What would you like to say to today’s audience?
Miya: When we come back in October, I’m hoping to see you all again at our concert. We don’t get to visit Finland that often but I hope that you are patient and wait for us. Tatsuro: We’ve never been to Finland during the mid-winter. I’ve heard that at that time there is nothing but darkness here. I am curious to see what’s it like! Yukke: We had a great autograph session in Finland. I would like to see a similar one next time too. SATOchi: I was glad to see so many people at the autograph session. Thanks to all those people, the rest of my day was more cheerful.

Describing HANGRY&ANGRY is quite hard considering the fact that there are so many unique aspects which make this artist duo so exceptional. The idea of HANGRY&ANGRY has been developed by the illustrator Gashicon who created the first drawings, inspired by the “Gurokawa” style – a mix of grotesque and sweet features! These drawings were taken up by the cult fashion designer h.NAOTO, who devised the musical project HANGRY&ANGRY. Rika Ishikawa and Hitomi Yoshizawa, former members of morning musume embody the two characters. Beside the circumstance that a large part of their appeal is connected to their fashion based image, HANGRY&ANGRY put a lot of hard work into their music and live performance to gain a perfect balance between being fashion icons and credible artists. HANGRY&ANGRY quickly became a phenomenon in Japan – just four days after the launch of the official Japanese MySpace page, the site had more than 100.000 visitors! But who can blame them?! To all the fans and everyone supporting An Cafe,
We regretfully announce that after 6 years since the band was formed in 2003, An Cafe has decided to suspend their activities on January 4th, 2010 with a live show at Nippon Budokan.
Without your sincere support to the band till today, we would never have been able to be where we are now. We are so grateful to all your support.
In making this decision, there were numerous discussions made between the band members and the staff. In order for An Cafe to step up to the next level, we have come to the conclusion that it is important for each members to charge up by seeing themselves objectively. The decision is rather made with a forward-looking vision.
We apologize for conveying this important news to all of you this way, and hope to gain your kind understanding.
After the Budokan show, each member will concentrate on their own activity to be prepared for the band to restart in the future.

BALZAC - new exclusive EP / DVD out in october
It's been a year and a half since Balzac's last major release. They have just announced a new mini-album,"Paradox" which is fully-produced by Takeshi Ueda of The Mad Capsule Markets/AA= fame. Balzac and The Mad Capsule Markets have had a close relationship for over 13 years and finally they have had a chance to collaborate on this very special release. Takeshi has not only fully produced the entire mini-album, he has also done all the programming and recording arrangement. Balzac has taken their established horrorpunk sound and brought it up a level amalgamating in a perfect blend of distortion and unprecedented destruction. This sound is what Balzac refers to as a new digital horrorpunk sound. Gan-Shin Records will release “Paradox” in Europe on 16th of October. girugämesh´s first live DVD!!!
The grim-rockers girugämesh count among one of the top Gan-Shin Acts in Europe. The sympathetic nippon-rocker acquired their audience from tour to tour and thereby their fanbase grew up. The last tour brought girugämesh a new audience-record, they played in clubs, which were mainly sold out. Also the metal scene has recognized that girugämesh is a “big fish”. The band is now confirmed for the skandinavien cult festival METALTOWN in Sweden (a.o. Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, Disturbed) and for the legendary TUSKA Festival in Helsinki.
Gan-Shin Records will release the first ever live DVD “CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY” on june 2nd. Disc 1 is a pure concert from the tour final in Tokyo! Disc 2 includes 100 min. documentary and behind the scenes about the “Crazy Tour”.
Gan-Shin Europe announces L´Arc-en-Ciel LIVE DVD release!
On May 9th 2008 the cosmopolitan City of Paris experienced a superlative musical spectacle, in the form of Japanese multi-platium superstars L’arc-en-Ciel. Queues for the multi-media-mega-event at Paris’s ZENITH venue started a full seven days before the doors opened, with fans from across Europe traveling to France’s capitol City to wait in line for their heroes.
Not that they had any need to – all in line were of the 6000 who’d already purchased their tickets within 48 hours of them going on sale. In addition to the fans, more than 90 Japanese technicians traveled to France to prepare the show and ensure that the 20 HD TV cameras were in working order for the satellite broadcast of the event. On the other side of the world, more than 30,000 tickets were sold for the special screening of the event in five multi-plex cinemas across Japan, resulting in another advance sell-out.
Now the live spectacle is availble on a double DVD. “Live In Paris” will be released via Gan-Shin records at the begginning of July Europe-wise.
AN CAFE announces the new album release!
Just a couple of weeks ago one of Japan’s most successful Newcomer in Europe, AN CAFÉ, celebrated a sold out world tour in Europe and South America. The signing sessions around the live dates caused cities on the tour to come to a standstill, with traffic jams caused by the mass mob of followers. Thousands of fans queued up to meet their Japanese heroes and get an autograph, with record shop owners watching on in disbelief. Now AN CAFÉ are announcing a new album, which will be released worldwide in September this year.
On January the 4th AN CAFE will give their first performance at one of Tokyo’s mega event locations the Tokyo Budokan. Headlining a venue like this is testament to the success of this young band, and their career, which right now seems to be on a meteoric rise with no sign of slowing down.
